Happy Birthday, Josiah!!!

Happy Birthday, Josiah!

I can't believe that I have a 7 year old…where has the time gone?

Yesterday, I had a baby…

But today, I have a big kid!

Happy Birthday to my big kid, Josiah!

May this be your best year yet!

A Look Back...

The last few days have been full of planning...

We decided to take advantage of some good deals and take our children (and my parents) to Disney World in February. If you know anything about disney, it is NOT something you just throw together last minute (not to say you can't, its just not easy...or desired). So the last couple of days have been filled with flight reservations, hotel reservations, meal planning (still meal planning...haven't finished yet) etc.

We/I went ahead and told our kids (since I was too excited) and asked them if they remembered our last trip to Disney (about 3 years ago). Eliya-who was 5 at the time-had a couple of vague memories. The other two had no memories. So to help them, I pulled up a few of the pictures from that trip...ones that I haven't looked through for a long time. It was fun!

So....I decided that I should share with you some of those pictures...

Hannah was trying to ignore Tigger and pretend he wasn't there...Tigger wanted her ice cream!

Eliya with her Minnie Mouse!

Josiah being smothered in a hug by June from Little Einsteins (even though he looked like he wasn't having fun, he actually LOVED meeting the characters)

The girls meeting Princess Aurora.

Me and my boy waiting to get in to the restaurant for dinner.

I hope you enjoyed seeing these pictures...looking at them puts a smile on my face and I hope it put a smile on yours!

Who is He to you?

Who is Jesus to you?
He is my provider....
He takes care of my needs, I will never go without.
He is my healer....
He took my sicknesses and infirmities on his back 2000 years ago on the cross.
He is the one who sees me...
When it seems like no one knows I exist, He does.
He is my joy...
He turns my sorrow into dancing.
He is my forgiver...
He forgives my sin and removes my transgressions as far as the east is from the west.
He is my rescuer...
He saved me from the pit of hell.
He is my protector and peace....
I don't have to worry about me and my family.
He is my everything...
Who is He to you?

Thankful Thursday....

Today, I am thankful for my best friend....my mom.

If you have a mom, there is nowhere you are likely to go where a prayer has not already been.~Robert Brault

My mom is a neverending song in my heart of comfort, happiness, and being. I may sometimes forget the words but I always remember the tune.~Graycie Harmon

I love my mother as the trees love water and sunshine-she helps me grow, prosper, and reach great heights.~Terri Guillemets

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.~Washington Irving

Happy Birthday, Mom!

I'm Back!

This summer has been busy. Not only were the three kids at home, but we decided to take a decades worth of vacation in three months (just kidding...but it feels like that). Our first trip was to celebrate our 11th anniversary...in Cancun, Mexico! It was WONDERFUL! It was the first time since we started having kids that my husband and I got to be alone for more than a day. It was glorious!

Our second trip was with the whole family....including my parents and my nephew...to Ham Lake, MN (near Park Rapids). My uncle has a cabin on the lake and he was gracious enough to let us use it for a week. It was so much fun to see the kids experience things that they haven't been able to before.

Our last trip was to San Antonio, TX to attend my brother-in-law's graduation from Baylor (an army physical therapy program). Normally, we might not have taken this trip (it took us 15 hours to drive it one way) but my brother-in-law was being reassigned to Germany-then Afganistan-the back to Germany starting in the middle of September. He will be gone for 3 years so we wanted to see him before he left.

So that was our summer. Yesterday, the kids went back to school and we started a new phase. Hannah-my 5 year old and my baby (although don't tell her that)-started kindergarten. I'm so excited for her. She LOVES it! And I'm excited to see what God has in store for me now that it's just me at home.

Now that my kids are back in school, maybe I'll be able to blog more. I should have the time now! :)
